Job summary

Summary

The main missions of Risk and Permanent Control (RPC) are to:

  • analyse, measure and provide an independent opinion on all risks (excluding legal and reputation risks) incurred by the Bank e.g. credit (including country and portfolio), market or liquidity risks
  • lead and supervise the permanent control system, by proposing relevant limit framework for credit, market and liquidity risks
  • monitor and measure operational risks.

This Trainee role will support the Regional Chief Risk Officer Asia Pacific to facilitate the implementation of the cross-functional subjects / initiatives as well as regulatory requirements across the Asia Pacific Region, and to ensure transversal communications between the different risk teams, eliminating the creation of silos.

The ideal candidate should complete their graduation requirements by January 2026 and is available to start the position from February 2026. Trainee program is one year to begin with and possible for extension up to 2 years in total, subject to performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of a monthly risk dashboard and its production;
  • Regulatory surveillance i.e. monitoring of the introduction of new regulations / changes in existing regulations across the Asia Pacific network. Presentations on the significant evolutions to the Regional Management and the concerned Risk Teams and training on these topics;
  • Coordination of the implementation of new regulatory requirements (ex: Climate Risk, model Risk…);
  • Coordinating the responses to inspections and findings arising out of inspections, in-depth reviews, thematic investigations, close supervision meetings and other requests for information from regulators in coordination with Head Office and relevant RPC teams.
  • Risk Governance.
  • Communication, either by way of a dedicated Newsletter or whenever necessary to RPC Asia

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor / Master Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting etc. with less than 12 months' full time experiences

Level of minimal experience

Required skills

  • Team Player

  • Ability to Communicate efficiently

  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Ability to identify and analyse issues and suggest solutions

Technical skills required

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, working knowledge in VBA, Access and Business Object

  • Project management skills (i.e. prioritization and communication)

     

Languages

Fluency in English. Fluency in French, Cantonese and/or Mandarin will definitely be a plus.
