Job summary

**This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong.

Summary

  • Focus on timely submission of quality credit requests with submission to HO for final decision to accommodate business needs.
  • Maintain quality FI portfolio with timely completion of annual reviews balanced with thorough counterparty risk analysis and industry update.
  • Proactively manage the FI portfolio with on-going monitoring and reporting any material / adverse development, in order to take pre-emptive actions. Follow up action on the portfolio and adjudicate on risk issues arising out of daily anomalies, late ratings and break clause condition.
  • Be a value added RPC-FSP AP member by continuing building of good working relationship with business lines, FIG coverage bankers, Legal, RPC-AP, RPC-FSP Paris to smooth processing of all credit files.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal with day-to-day requests and prepare applications for various CA-CIB business lines requesting credit limits on financial institutions (FI).
  • Organize the annual review calendar and preparation of annual reviews in coordination with the Credit Coordinators and senior bankers.
  • Perform credit analysis on financial institutions including:
    • Financial analysis
    • Recommendation of internal ratings and credit limits
    • Assessment of credit risks embedded in banking products or structured transactions, and verification of the suitability of transactions for clients/ counterparties concerned
  • Liaise with and assist various business lines in rating and risk assessment, and to coordinate with Legal and credit functions relating to credit issues on the FI portfolio.
  • Monitor credit approval terms and conditions decided by Head Office
  • Observe limit utilization and excesses
  • Monitor ongoing risk of clients, updating information in relation to risk evolution in the region and with regard to the FI portfolio.
  • Ensure that credit procedures are followed in accordance with internal policies and guidelines; strengthen understanding of Basel requirements, internal risk systems/ tools, as well as in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Be a value added RPC-FSP AP member including building good working relationship with business lines, Legal, RPC-AP, RPC-FSP Paris to smooth processing of all credit files. Further develop FI credit analytical skills, knowledge with investment banking products, understanding of target financial markets and related regulation and accounting requirements.

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • University graduate majoring in accounting, business administration or finance

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

  • Knowledge of banking and capital market products and documentation requirements.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience and good knowledge of counterparty risk management.

Required skills

  • Good team player and ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently

Technical skills required

  • Good credit analysis and report writing skills
  • Good analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Good understanding of the countries under coverage, capital market products and documentation requirement.
