Job summary

The trainee will support the Asia Pacific Financial Control and Projects team in carrying out its various missions, including regional coordination, data quality monitoring, participation to Finance projects, and Operational Risk reporting, and will as well maintain and produce Management Control reports.

She/he will be able to gain experience in multiple Finance related functional areas and at the same time develop technical skills (understanding of banking IT systems, project management, Excel and PowerBI reporting). It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the activity of an investment bank through interactions with various internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should complete their graduation requirements by June 2023 and is available to start the position in June/July 2023.  We also welcome candidates who are ready to start working in March/April. 
 
Trainee program is one year to begin with and possible for extension up to 2 years in total, subject to performance and business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control and projects:

Assist the regional team on various tasks, including

  • Coordination and monitoring of data quality and closing deadlines in Head-Office reporting
  • Participation to Finance projects to provide support and coordination both to Head Office and APAC entities
  • Reporting on permanent controls for Treasuries in Asia Pacific and prepare supporting information for the quarterly Operational Risk e-Committee with Treasurers in APAC.

Management Control:

  • Perform regular and ad-hoc extractions and database refresh during month-end and budget
  • Generate regular performance reports to relevant teams
  • Assist the Regional Head of Management control in the development and maintenance of reporting tools (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint)

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Bachelor degree with good understanding of Finance or Accounting with less than 12 months’ full-time experiences

  • Engineering background graduates with strong interests in Finance/Accounting will also be considered

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years

Experience

  • Internship experience in data management is an advantage

Required skills

  • Good interests and comfortable with IT systems and data flows

  • Mature and autonomous, ability to quickly adapt to a new environment and work within a team

  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Organised and detailed oriented

Technical skills required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and other PC applications

Languages

• Fluent in English
