Job summary

EIG LatAm is the regional platform for the Energy & Infrastructure Group (within SFI) in Latin America. As such, the team covers all sectors for EIG, notably: Oil & Gas RBL, midstream and downstream, Infrastructure, Power and Mining. The Team acts in several roles within these sectors, including project finance arranging, advisory and from time to time undertakes some coverage responsibilities. Key markets for the team are Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil. The team is responsible for originating and executing transactions within this platform, as well as monitoring our portfolio of assets. Work is generally conducted in deal teams and the deal teams change with each transaction, enabling team members to learn from one another and gain experience from a variety of sectors and geographies. We also work closely with other areas of the bank such as DOD, CIN, GIB, securitisation and GMD with the goal of serving our customers with the best solutions and maximising cross-sales within the bank.

 

EIG LatAm is seeking to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to assist us in our growing business.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

·         Demonstrated team player
 
·         Direct involvement in the structuring and distribution of project finance transactions in Latin America, including: portfolio analysis and annual reviews, review and creation of financial models, preparation of pitch books, negotiation of term sheets, customer meetings, interaction with lawyers, financial institutions, accounting and tax advisors, rating agencies, etc…  
 

·         Responsibility for certain segments of a transaction as delegated by the team leader. Usually most focus in financial modelling.
 
·         Communication with clients, including in advisory mandates, on aspects of the transaction that the Associate is responsible for (eg. Timetables, interaction with technical or tax advisers to ensure accuracy in models, etc.).
 
·         Process credit applications for approval of transactions including preparation of a summary of transaction, description of main participants and detailed risk analysis, as well as financial modeling and forecasting project outcomes.  
 
·         Participation in marketing efforts and sector research and other commercial or administrative duties.
 

·         Produce annual reviews for loan monitoring assignments within the existing project finance portfolio.

 

·         Each task requires a strong interaction with the other members of the group; work will generally be within transaction teams.
 

·         Fluency in Spanish is a requirement. Knowledge of Latin America is a definite advantage
 

·         Strong analytical skills and experience in structured credits
 

·         Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
 

·         Knowledge of Credit Agricole systems such as KIWIS, PHIDIAS, SMAC, Fides, etc. is preferable
