Job summary

We are seeking a strategic, proactive, and detail-oriented Head of Middle Office Sales to lead our London-based team. This role is crucial for ensuring the security of our control framework and providing exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital markets, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing complex operations within a financial institution.

 

Located on the London trading floor you will be responsible for the Sales Middle Office Support team. The team’s primary objective is to ensure the timely and accurate booking of transactions into the traders risk and facilitate the flow into the back office systems for settlement.

 

Middle Office is a key line of defence in the banks control framework and a key support function to the front office.

 

You will be responsible for ensuring the security of the control framework and the level of service provided to the clients of Middle Office.

 

You will face off to various departments with Middle Office being a nexus between a number of other support functions and the Front Office.

 

You will have a strong Capital market background and relevant product knowledge along with strong leadership.

 

MOS Sales is an external facing function working with the operational team of our clients on post trade request (novations / allocations / booking error / failed settlement) requiring good communication skills, as you’ll be representing the company to our clients.

 

Middle Office Sales London is a team of 10 individuals and demonstrable people management experience will is essential.

 

As the Head of MO Sales London you will be responsible for:

Control and support functions of the operations initiated by the Sales FX and Credit Business Lines, from the negotiation and recording of the transactions.
Assessing and minimising the operational risk of MO Sales Support, whilst optimising the use of scarce resources.
Facilitate and  improve  the  handling  of  operations  in the  processing  chains  by ensuring  effective  and  relevant control processes for all operations.
Communicating effectively and regularly on the team situation.
Defining and implementing Team improvement projects and plans.
Assisting in the definition and implementation of relevant Bank Project.
Managing relation with other group entities (Front-Office Sales, Middle-Office Sales, Back Office Product, System support) and external entities, providing an effective escalation point.

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Degree in finance or equivalent
  • Training in Management Techniques desirable

Experience

  • Established team lead and management experience.  
  • Experience in Operations / trade support functions
  • Strong experience managing Flow Forex Activity
  • Strong experience Managing Flow Bonds Activity
  • Participation on complex projects
  • Good knowledge on the Fund allocation process for Bonds and Forex
  • Good knowledge on client facing post trade events like novations
  • Transformation and Client on Boarding experience is desirable

Required skills
