Job summary
Summary
This Research role will conduct regional, global macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis, based in Hong Kong.
Eligible candidates should be completing their degree requirements and are available to start working by Dec 2025. Trainee contract is one year to begin with and renewable for up to two years in total.
Key Responsibilities
Based in Hong Kong, the research trainee conducts research on economic, political and geopolitical developments and their impact on Asian economy and markets:
- Monitor and track macro, political and geopolitical developments across key Asian economies
- Develop risk assessments, scenario forecasts and make use of statistical analysis to interpret how geopolitics influence macroeconomic indicators, trade flows and financial markets in Asia
- Critically evaluate information and produce briefings in a professional and concise manner for clients as well as internal stakeholders including senior management
- Collaborate with economists and market strategists to provide analysis relating to global political developments
- Immerse in Asia’s rich culture to synthesize on-the-ground color to geopolitical analysis
Contribute to published research reports

Previous experience in a related analytical role in macro research, policy consulting, government, or think tank would be an advantage
Required skills
• Curious, adaptable and eager to develop geopolitical expertise in Asia’s complex environment
• Strong team player, hardworking with a deep sense of commitment and responsibility
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines under a fast-moving work environment
• Excellent writing and communication skills, attentive to details
Technical skills required
Deep interest and understanding of global political landscape with good knowledge of US politics
Languages
Fluent in English; French is an advantage
