Energy and Real Assets, Americas – VP
General Description
The Vice President will be responsible for supporting energy and infrastructure advisory assignments primarily in North America.
The individual will be responsible for all aspects of financial advisory mandates including but not limited to the preparation of information materials, financial analysis, structuring, and day-to-day transaction management. Support will be provided by a pool of associates and analysts.
Further, the scope includes coordinating with senior bankers and other product groups, conducting research and analysis on key industry sub-sectors and business opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors in the U.S., driving financial analysis to optimize financial structures, and assessing transactions across a variety of business structures. Finally, the individual must supervise, train and mentor junior team members in the creation of complex financial models and quantitative analyses, industry, and economic research and related presentation and transaction execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage deal teams and all aspects of financial advisory mandates including but not limited to external advisors, transaction timelines, and the preparation of presentation materials, financial models and analysis, and transaction documents
- Interact with clients and investors to proactively understand their goals and needs, prepare negotiating strategies, present deliverables, and originate new business
- Provide transaction and origination support to senior bankers, serve as point of contact for client coverage teams, and build relationships with peers across bank products (e.g., M&A, DCM, etc.)
- Conduct research and analysis on key industry sectors and business opportunities in the U.S.; VPs are expected to have strong knowledge across infrastructure subsectors (e.g., energy, environment, power & utilities, renewables, transportation, etc.) and ability to form and present opinions, perspectives, and ideas
- Responsible for leading financial analysis to structure transactions including supervision of development of financial models and assessment of transactions across a variety of capital, tax (including tax-equity), and business structures
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members in the creation of complex financial models and quantitative analyses, industry, and economic research and related presentation and transaction execution
- Ensure compliance of all internal and external matters in accordance with banking regulations, policies and FINRA regulations
- Perform other duties as required or assigned

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related field and/or an equivalent work experience

Experience
- Minimum of 5 years, but ideally 6-7 years of relevant professional experience
- Between 3-7 years of experience in investment banking, commercial banking, or finance industry with strong credit analysis experience.
- Exposure to the energy and infrastructure sector and debt or equity transactions is preferred but not required depending prior investment banking experience
