POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director will report to the Head of Real Estate & Lodging and play a critical role in executing the team's strategic objectives, leading deal teams, managing key client relationships, and driving business development across the REL platform. This position requires strong leadership, deal execution capability, and collaborative engagement across the bank.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deal Leadership & Execution
- Lead deal teams on transactions
- Support the MD or Director leading deals and maintain a holistic view of transactions
- Take ownership in discussions with RPC, management, and Head Office as applicable
- Lead credit application processes and manage junior staff on deals
- Take leadership and ownership of BOM, BPC, and credit committee presentations, as well as documentation and commercial discussions
2. Client Relationship Management & Business Development
- Identify and develop relationships with key target clients within the Real Estate and Lodging industry
- Focus on strategic and prime clients with satisfactory ESG trajectory
- Deepen relationships with existing high-value clients (HVCs) and newly onboarded clients
- Monitor quality of pitches, follow-up with clients, and track success rate of cross-selling initiatives
- Escalate reputational concerns through appropriate channels and promote CACIB's ESG capabilities to clients
3. Risk Management & Credit Culture
- Ensure you are the first barrier of risk within the bank from a credit standpoint
- Lead comprehensive credit analysis and approval processes, ensuring quality risk assessment and effective stakeholder coordination
- Liaise with RPC on credit requests and any other relevant credit matters
- Ensure proper monitoring of loan portfolios and follow up on sensitive asset reviews
- Ensure all KYC processes for on-boarding are completed
- Conduct periodic reviews of clients in terms of analyzing BSA/AML, sanctions, and other compliance-related risks
4. Communications & Internal Alignment
- Contribute to CACIB's internal open communication on REL with the objective to gain internal support for business development and external growth with clients
- Participate in New York Deal Pipeline Committee and Credit Committee presentations
- Attend meetings with other areas of the bank regarding shared business and cross-selling
5. One Team & One Bank Culture
- Amplify synergies across the Group and help develop simplifications in REL and ERA
- Foster the "One Team" approach, with a view to give more ownership to other team members and support organic promotion
- Interface with the ERA Transverse Team to assess feasibility of portfolio solutions
- Liaise with relevant Product Lines of CA-CIB on a transverse basis to ensure products are adequate to respond to client needs
6. Data Management & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into Bank systems (Diamond, Client Live, and other relevant platforms)
- Utilize Alfred for document management, deal analysis, and strategic reporting
- Close and proactive monitoring of the financial performance of clients in your portfolio
- Timely preparation of Annual Reviews and pro-active reporting of all negative credit events
7. ESG & Sustainability Integration
- Integrate ESG principles into deal origination and execution by applying CA sector policies and NetZero standards
8. Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure staff comply with regulatory obligations
- Support in training and development of staff to ensure they are fully qualified to conduct their role and maintain competence on an ongoing basis
