Description / Summary

The US Debt Syndicate team is seeking an Associate/VP to work with the Head of US ABS and USPP on (primarily) US structured and corporate private placements, as well as US ABS. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on in all areas of transaction execution and pitching including (but not limited to): development of syndication strategies and pricing analyses, garnering and organizing investor feedback for potential and live transactions, and will be an integral part of pre-marketing, marketing, allocation, pricing and closing activities. The candidate will be expected to keep up with market trends and be a trusted representative for the private placement and ABS products during internal and external meetings / calls. The candidate will also have to effectively liaise across multiple teams across the firm and be able to multi-task while keeping organized. This position will directly report to the Head of US Syndicate and be part of a six-person syndication team.

 Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the broader Debt Syndicate team, and NY-based and International CACIB Securitization banking teams to support US private placement and ABS new issue transactions (from pitching to execution phases)

- Cover all areas of transaction execution: pre-marketing activities, marketing activities, allocation and pricing

- Liaise with US Credit Sales team to garner investor feedback on live new issue transactions and transaction opportunities

- Help develop and expand relationships with key investor accounts and market participants to develop current market views, trends and investor considerations

- Participate in all activities related to team preparation for industry conferences. These activities include but are not limited to client outreach, setting up investor & issuer meetings and holding the pen on the master meeting schedule, preparation of marketing materials

- Preparation of syndication strategies and pricing opinions

- Work with the broader syndicate team to ensure that administrative items around the execution of transactions are done correctly and timely   

- Keep up with private placement and ABS and broader capital markets to develop views, observe trends, and find areas of opportunity for further development

- Maintain and further develop the team’s investor and product databases for ongoing best practices

- Provide back-up across all the desk activities, across products, when needed

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

BA/BS degree (Master’s degree a plus)


Series 7 and 63 licenses or ability to obtain within 6 months into starting the role

 




 

Level of minimal experience

3-5 years

Experience

 

3-5+ years of relevant experience in banking, capital markets, or similar function

Experience in USPP and/or ABS Syndicate  

Broader Syndicate experience would be beneficial.

Strong interpersonal skills and with an ability to multi-task while keeping organized

Ability to liaise across multiple local and international teams across the firm
