Job summary

Department Overview
UK Leveraged Finance sits within Structured Finance (SFI), one of the leading divisions of Crédit Agricole CIB. The businesses of structured finance include originating, advising, structuring and financing investment transactions which are often backed by tangible collateral such as aircraft, ships, corporate real estate) or complex and structured loans.

The role encompasses a wide range of tasks which will vary according to the activity of the Leveraged Finance group.  It is expected the role will involve a significant level of work on new/live transactions as well as assisting senior staff on the management of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

·        Financial modelling of transactions.

·        Market research (business/ sector/ transactional) and preparation of presentations to financial sponsors.

·        Review confidentiality agreements alongside Legal.

·        Draft Bus Com submissions.

·        Review of Information Memoranda/ business plans/ due diligence/ term sheets.

·        KYC – process new client on-boarding including data entry in KIWIS system.

·        Credit Agricole monitoring tools – data entry, updating and ongoing review.

·        Monitoring of portfolio company trading & developments/ account analysis/ waiver request processing etc.

·        Drafting early stage credit applications and assisting senior staff on sections of full credit applications.

·        Drafting annual review papers.

·        Assistance to senior management in all other areas of the business as required.

Precise split of time will be determined on an ongoing basis dependent on business requirements at the time.

Management and reporting

Assistance to Associate Directors, Directors and Managing Directors in all areas of the business as required.  Line of reporting through listed titles to Departmental Head.

Financial Performance

Charged with being part of a team set a team financial target each year.


Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and policies and procedures as issued from time to time. Financial Security requirements including but not limited to the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations.

Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role.  Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Key Internal contacts

 Interaction with other departments including credit, syndications, debt capital markets, middle office, legal, compliance, and other selected departments where appropriate.

Key External contacts


Mainly financial sponsors, debt advisors and the general banking community when appropriate.

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Awareness of general business, financial and economic environment. 


Credit understanding.


Leverage and management account knowledge.

A knowledge and understanding of the financial sponsor community would be beneficial.
