Job summary
Key Responsibilities
The intern will be working directly with the Credit Strategist and will have a varied workload. The main responsibilities will lie with helping with research publications. On the strategy side these include daily, monthly and year-end publications. Some of the assistance will be in the form of written research but the intern will be expected to take control of data management. We have several data sources: these include Bloomberg, CreditLab (our internal spread database), Dealogic, DTCC, rating agencies and the internet. The focus will be on keeping the data current so it can be used in presentations and publications with ease, with a long-term goal of automating as much of the data processes as possible. Another target will be to build and maintain a CDS database from DTCC data. In addition there will be some adhoc projects where we will look to build some statistical/quantitative models where needed.
Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
· Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
· Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
Key Internal contacts
Most of the contact will be within the credit research teams in Paris as well as the credit trading team. However, on an ad hoc basis the intern may be required to assist sales/origination/syndicate with their queries
SPECIAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Supporting Credit Strategy will require a broad skills set but crucially the candidate will need to be flexible, a quick learner, have the ability to write and analyse data, and have a real desire to gain some broad-based market knowledge.
