Job summary

Summary

Join our London Credit Middle Office Team, where you will assist the team in executing control and support functions for our Global Markets Division Trading desks. This role is crucial in ensuring the timeliness of trade capture, amendment, cancellation, validation, deal flow, and life cycle events in Front Office systems. You will work in a dynamic and international environment, taking charge of the control and support functions for operations initiated by the London Credit Trading team.

The position requires proficiency in Excel and Python, including strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and robust problem-solving abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Control Functions:


Perform trade validation in Front Office systems as the first level of control.
Manage the booking and follow-up of new trades and unwinds for CDS & Indices and Swaps.


Conduct false/technical counterparty checks and distressed assets lifecycle management.


Investigate collateral discrepancies and monitor Straight Through Processing (STP) flows.


Collaborate with IT and trading to resolve trade booking failures and work with trading and settlements to resolve failed trade issues.


Support Functions:


Manage novations, including e-platforms management, booking in Front Office systems, and follow-up with counterparties and back offices.

Monitor failed and alleged trades, manage funding/refinancing calculations and bookings.


Follow up on syndication fees, CDS booking, invoice booking, P&L transfers, and error status.


Participate in bilateral and ICE compressions, bond exchanges, and funges.


Contribute to significant systems projects through testing and analysis.


Credit & Succession Events:


Manage bank-wide credit and succession events, ensuring timely prioritization and response to requests and questions.


Handle booking, Front Office communication, validation, and materialization of the P&L impact.


Coordinate with support teams such as Back Office, Legal, Risk, and Market Asset Management.


Compile information from the ISDA Determinations Committee decisions and Markit (refinancing/rename event).

  • High technical and analytical ability, proactive, reliable, and sensitive to operational risk

Technical skills required

  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Excel VBA and Python for end-user computing development.
