Job summary

**This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong.

 

Summary
 

Within, Operations, Premises & Country COOs (OPC) based in Hong Kong, Capital Market Operations (CMO) teams are responsible to process the transaction activities for Credit, Rates, FX/MM, Securities and Equities for multiple geographies (APAC and EMEA). There are 2 teams under CMO HK in charge of:

 

Capital Market Middle Office (CMM):

  • Transaction validation & controls
  • Trade Capture, Amendments and Events management
  • Deal allocations
  • FOBO/FOFO Reconciliation and resolution of breaks
  • Market data creation
  • Liaising with Trading and Sales teams and BO query management
  • Collateral Management - Liaising with external clients for Margin calls and MTM reports and solve any query
  • Coordination of the New Activity and Product (NAP) files for CMO launched by the Business Lines

 

Capital Market Back Office (CMB):

  • Ensuring in liaison with Business Lines and Middle Office teams a smooth transaction integration within the Back Office systems
  • Liaising with external clients for Confirmation and Settlements and solve any query
  • Ensuring cut offs are met for payments
  • Meeting our regulatory requirement sin terms of timely confirmation
  • Client static data and Settlement Instruction creation
  • Funding projection in liaison with multiple Treasury desks
  • Regulatory reporting for several regulators 
  • Coordination of the New Activity and Product (NAP) files for CMO launched by the Business Lines
  • Nostro reconciliation
  • KPI’s production and operational risk mitigation implementation

 

The Back Offices (CMB) provides operational services to multiple CA-CIB sites including Europe and Asia for all Capital Markets transaction including FX, MM, Derivatives, Equities, Structured trades and Fixed Income activities.

 

This role is within the Capital Markets Back Office – Securities & Equity and activities includes

  • Securities & Equity Settlement
  • Extended support during Asian hours on trade confirmation monitoring
     

You will discover business line related to the financial markets in an international environment and develop extensive skillset in Securities and Equities products of post-trade activities and their markets.

Supplementary Information

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Ensure transactional integrity in post trade system initiated by trading applications.
  • Tracking of buy-sell transactions in the equity and convertible bond markets
  • Monitoring of primary issuance of convertible bonds
  • Monitoring of loan-to-loan and collateral transactions in the equity, bond and convertible bond markets
  • Follow-up of settlements
  • Responding to FO requests on current or future cases
  • Monitoring the issuance and receipt of loan/loan invoices
  • Track reconciliation and identification of potential gaps on loan/loan invoices
  • Follow-up of payment of loan/loan invoices and follow-up of defaults.
  • Monitoring of projects
  • Perform investigation in settlement discrepancies and related outstanding issues
  • Assist Head of Back Office / Line manager to carry out common projects / global initiatives
  • Ad hoc participation and support for projects for continuous improvement and optimization of management processes (specifications, user tests, process drafting) in conjunction with project teams, IT teams and management

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • University Degree holder from discipline in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Fixed Income/ Equities settlement environment is necessary

Required skills

  • Good knowledge of financial products and understanding of the operational risks involved in Fixed Income and Equities products
  • Good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skill
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding in financial products and the operational risks involved in FIM products
  • Strong attention to details and a self-starter who is highly motivated.
