Job summary

 

**This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong.

 

Summary

Responsible for the preparation of risk analysis of credit applications initiated by business lines including CIB, CLF, ERA, etc., covering the following geographies primarily Hong Kong but also including Macau, Vietnam and the Philippines, and issuance of credit recommendations for decision at the adequate delegation level.

 

Key Responsibilities

Major tasks

  • Prepare high-quality credit opinions on corporate requests and other business lines’ files (on an as-needed basis) by analyzing the creditworthiness of existing counterparts / potential customers (including qualitative assessment and quantitative financial analysis, as well as soundness of relevant industries and respective outlook). Respective corporate financial projections on medium to long term transactions are to be prepared and/or reviewed as and when necessary.
  • Recommend risk ratings based on the Bank's latest corporate rating model.
  • Make recommendations based on the evaluation of both the counterparty risk and the merits of the request (primary corporate repayment sources, proposed facility structure, transaction size / tenor, nature and complexity of the product, secondary repayment sources, collateral provided if any).
  • Review documentation and suitability in terms of amount and consistency with the counterpart's business, as well as CACIB risk framework (country / sector / metier / product).
  • Organise the HK Credit Committee for corporate credit requests (by circulation or physical meeting) and prepare respective minutes. Participation in the physical Credit Committee (HK/AP if applicable) with presentation of the risk opinion on an as needed basis.
  • Process booking request applications submitted by other CACIB entities / business lines.
  • Assist in the Portfolio Review exercises.

 

On-going risk monitoring of the assigned corporate portfolio

  • Complete annual reviews and update internal ratings of clients in a timely manner, targeting to achieve zero overdue (in line with the 12-month periodicity guideline).
  • If documentation or financial covenants of clients are not in compliance, as alerted by front office / middle office, review such specific situation and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Keep track on the performance of clients and, when detecting earning warning signals, escalate them to the relevant RPC units and to Management, and recommend actions to be taken.
  • Perform economic and industry / sector analysis on a regular basis in the course of relevant credit reviews.
  • Ensure that relevant credit procedures are followed in accordance with internal policies and guidelines. Strictly follow the latest Basel requirements, internal risk systems / tools, as well as local regulatory requirements.
  • Be reactive to urgent transactional requests and ensure their timely assessment.

Supplementary Information

  • Maintain a close and seamless working relationship with various business lines as well as with RPC AP / HO colleagues, to protect the quality of the corporate portfolio.

 

Others:

  • Manage Phidias files by coordinating with the CMR team to ensure correct data inputs into Eurecca for credit limit authorizations – in line with the procedures for processing of credit requests.
  • Collect market intelligence through various channels.
  • Work on ad-hoc risk related projects (i.e. internal and external (e.g. HKMA) assignments whenever requested), as well as other assignments as requested by Head of SCS HK.
  • Be well aware of new regulatory requirements impacting credit risk.

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • University level degree in finance or other related business fields
  • Professional qualification such as CFA a plus

  • Overall banking experience of 10 years, of which at least 5 years in corporate credit analysis at a Corporate and Investment Bank
