Job summary

 

Summary

The Middle Office Sales Support team is responsible on supporting the Front Office Sales in the business of dealing Foreign Exchange products within its mandates. The role is responsible for post trade management of the transactions executed in that business line and activities related to that with an emphasis on facilitating smooth transaction integration and control of operations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Primary Responsibilities:

The main responsibility is to control and guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of the Sales capture, amendment and life cycle events in FO systems.

The FX Sales MO Support Analyst is specifically responsible for carrying / monitoring the below tasks:

·         Reconciliation between OMEGA vs SIGMA

·         Voice trade validation

·         Economic details amendment / cancellation

·         Client's trade allocation

·         Post trade - External queries - Clients / Prime Broker

·         Assisting resolution of BO queries sent to Sales

·         Investigating and managing resolution of breaks sent by BO and MO teams

·         Interface with Client Onboarding teams

 

Secondary responsibilities

·         Ensure the controls and procedures are developed to support the business and reduce operational risk

·         Service Quality and Processes improvement:

-     Propose and formalize any improvements on controls and procedures

-     Develop efficiency initiatives

·         Compliance and Governance

-     Ensure compliance with CA-CIB CMO and New York governance and organization directives

-     Promote operational controls and segregation of duties

·         Control and awareness

-     Exert vigilance to unusual or inappropriate (i.e. unusual, un-economic or fraudulent) sale practices

-     Alert management and position control team in case of suspicion of inappropriate (i.e. unusual, un-economic or fraudulent) sale practices or operations

-       Reports to the Head of Middle Office Sales Support, New York

-       Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office / Settlements, Transversal teams, Application Support, Referential teams, Risks and Market Activity Monitoring teams, Compliance

Asset Managers, Brokers, Clients, Custodians

 

 

Participation in BCP planning and testing, Bank Holiday coverage will be required

Candidate criteria

Academic qualification / Speciality

Required: Educated to an A level standard or equivalent

Preferred: Educated to degree level standard or equivalent

Experience

Strong Middle Office / Back Office experience in FX. Understanding of Trade Validation and Allocation process with Asset Managers Knowledge of Settlement Markets

Required skills

Required:

Rigour, autonomy and strong sense of organization

High technical and analytical ability
communicating clearly and concisely

Sensitivity to operational risk and ability to escalate as needed

Ability to work under pressure and prioritize

Preferred: 

A good understanding of the operational risks involved in Forex markets

Technical skills required

Required: 

English Fluency

Ease of learning and navigating multiple applications

Knowledge of Front to Back trade workflow

Exposure/knowledge of electronic trading platforms 

Excel, comfort with large data sets and formula and functions

Preferred: 

VBA, Macros

 

Languages

French is a plus
