Job summary

Summary

The Short Term Markets Sales Team caters for a very wide range of clients (AMs, HFs, Corps, Insurance, Dealers). This is a strategic team for the bank, both due to the sheer volume of business it entails, but also due to the bank’s appetite for secured funding products. All Secured funding and money markets products in all currencies are traded from within this team.

The Sales Desk Assistant will be tasked with assisting senior sales members in their daily duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Daily Tasks

 

  • Maintain awareness of all economic and financial data likely to affect the products being marketed.
  • Assist with the pricing and booking
  • Assist with market updates
  • Assist with client queries by gathering the relevant information from different teams (credit, trading, back-office)
  • Pre or post trade assistance with term sheets and confirmations as well as communication with the various Middle Office and Back Office Teams

 

2. Control

 

  • Assist Senior Sales to ensure clients are suitably classified (under FCA rules) and are dealt with appropriately.
  • Assist Senior Sales to ensure clients and transactions are cleared by credit, legal, compliance and back office before trading.
  • Assist Senior Sales to ensure dealing remains within set time limits and efficient / ethical execution of client transactions.

 

3. Communication

 

  • Network with contacts in the business to generate business for the Global Markets Division.
  • Attend regular meetings with other members of the team to review marketing strategy and exchange ideas.

 

4. Reporting

 

  • Report to the Head of Secured Funding and Money Market Sales UK
  • Preparation of various sales reporting documents for management, of which a monthly report on accounts activity i.e. volumes/ business.
