Job summary

As an Intern in the Middle Office Credit Trade Support team, you will gain invaluable exposure to the control and support functions for our Global Markets Division trading desks. This role is an excellent opportunity to understand how Middle Office functions as a critical control point between Front Office trading activities and Back Office settlement processes. Key requirements for this internship include knowledge in finance, keen analytical skills and the ability to engage effectively with team members and trading desks.

 

 

Key Responsibilities are but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Learn trade validation processes in Front Office systems.
    Observe and assist with CDS & Indices trade booking procedures
  • Support basic Swaps trade processing under close supervision
  • Help with data gathering for false/technical counterparty checks
  • Assist with monitoring of simple STP flows
  • Observe process improvement initiatives and their implementation
  • Gain exposure to product development from an operational perspective
  • Learn about regulatory requirements affecting Middle Office operations
  • Help gather basic data for reporting purposes
  • Learn about operational statistics and their significance
  • Develop awareness of operational risk concepts
  • Observe interactions with Trading desks and participate in team meetings to develop understanding

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Graduated within the past 18 months with a minimum 2:1 or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in Middle Office / Back Office / Trade Support is advantageous

Required skills

• Good knowledge of credit products such as bonds and CDS; familiarity with Swaps and Structured products is a plus

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain integrity, and demonstrate sensitivity to operational risk

Technical skills required

• Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Excel VBA and Python is beneficial
