Job summary

Reporting to the Senior Banker responsible for FIG & Corporate Coverage in Quebec, based in Montreal, the Global Relationship Manager ("GRM") will assist in developing the franchise and coverage strategy for Quebec and Eastern Canada. They will contribute to the growth of global relationships with CDPQ, PSP, and major Quebec corporate clients such as Boralex, CGI, CoucheTard, WSP. They will help grow the portfolio with new clients and accelerate existing relationships.

 

With a transactional approach, they will contribute to providing content, anticipating strategic situations where the bank globally can add value in advisory, acquisition and real asset financing, global markets, and banking solutions for local and primarily international investments of clients. Some growth could come from a selection of new Private Equity clients, independent infrastructure funds, and large families.

 

The objective is to develop lasting and profitable relationships for CACIB with its clients, and to strengthen its position vis-à-vis competitors. Actively support the development of CACIB's business lines including GMD (Capital Markets, DCM and SET), ERA (Structured and Project Finance), ITB (Transaction Banking), GIB (Corporate Finance, Capital Markets) and any other business line and affiliate of the Crédit Agricole group.

 

In addition to commercial support, the GRM will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient relationships with business lines and the international network in service of our clients, internal credit processes, compliance and reporting.

 

The position has the following responsibilities, as an assistant to the senior banker for their clients and in support of the Financial Institutions Coverage team in Canada based in Montreal.

 

Quantitative Performance


The GRM's performance is aligned with that of their Senior Banker with a focus on commercial and administrative support provided to the Coverage team and stakeholders. For each client, quantitative performance indicators are reported on the client evaluation sheet extracted from Client Live (internal CRM tool) where the quantitative performance of the Senior Banker's portfolio is consolidated

Supplementary Information

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

- Understands the client's strategy, activities, and financial situation and anticipates banking service needs.


- Understands the specificities, challenges, and issues related to the client sector, market, and industry (including corporate portfolio investments).


- Drives client activity with key product partners/business lines.


- Maps the internal organization of the FIG client, identifies key decision-makers (C-Suite, investment managers, financing managers, etc.) and develops strong relationships that build multi-product/multi-geography relationships between CACIB and the client.


- Leads and coordinates client teams, offering them the best of our "know-how" to find solutions adapted to their needs, and develop cross-selling at CACIB level and, where appropriate, the CA group; chairs and monitors the client team's annual budgeting exercise.


- Obtains quality, profitable mandates, in line with CSPs (businesses, geographies, sectors), and optimizes CACIB's RWA, liquidity, and scarce personnel resources.


- Maximizes volumes and profitability of investment and hedging flows available to our market teams.


- Promotes CACIB's credit distribution and liquidity collection (where applicable).


- Understands and anticipates risks related to Corporate and Investment Banking activities, and bears primary responsibility for counterparty risks, as well as the business lines concerned.

Minimal education level

Academic qualification / Speciality

- Higher education in a relevant field

Experience

- Solid level of front office/Coverage Banking experience

- Mergers & Acquisitions or Debt Advisory

- Knowledge of capital markets

- Knowledge of the local financial institution market and the sector in which portfolio clients operate

- Good knowledge of institution-specific issues and the challenges they represent

- Good understanding of a wide range of real asset financing, acquisition financing, fund financing, treasury and investment products

Required skills
