Job summary

As a member of the Bank’s First Line of Defence (1LoD), you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding the institution against AML/CFT risks, while driving operational excellence across key global hubs — London, Paris, New York, and Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Delivery of a robust KYC Periodic Review BAU service, reflected by high levels of compliance and limited business interruption, in terms of red-dotted files. In parallel, ensure implementation of an effective prioritisation process for handling urgent and more critical files.
  • Proactively working with all relevant stakeholders including Coverage and the Front Office, regarding the appropriate allocation of limited resources.
  • Effectively leveraging all available tools to ensure that performance management, and monitoring and control are closely 'driven by the data'.
  • Supporting the reinforcement of global Policy and Controls, reflective of GMD Onboarding's role as part of the Bank's 1st Line of Defence (1LoD)
  • Continuously up-skilling Team members, on both hard and soft skills.
  • Supporting the management and delivery of a variety of Change initiatives related to Regulatory Development and Continuous Improvement of the core service offering.
  • Representing the Team, and all underlying Stakeholders, in any relevant KYC Periodic Review forums, projects and working groups, including process feedback and go/no-go meetings and decisions.

 

Management and reporting

 

  • Report to the Global Head of GMD Onboarding as appropriate, regarding progress, identification and escalation of any specific production, policy or control issues.
  • Direct Line management responsibility for permanent and non-permanent staff where required. This may include matrix or ‘dotted-line’ reporting, where appropriate to address global topics

Practical KYC/AML experience across new Onboarding, review, remediation and life-cycle management. To include;

 

  • CDD/EDD/Trigger events
  • PEP/RCA’s
  • Beneficial Ownership, FINCEN, etc.
  • Fund structures

Required skills

  • Clear communication ability across diverse audiences
  • Flexibility to be able to simultaneously work on various different proposals/ reviews across different client groups
  • Strong “fact-finding” skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, both external and internal
  • Confidence to deal with client contacts at both equivalent and more senior levels
  • Ability to be an effective team player and to develop sound working partnerships
  • A self-starter

Technical skills required

  • Deep KYC/AML/CDD knowledge
  • Knowledge of broad range of relevant products and services
  • Good PC literacy
  • Broad understanding of product and market risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to deal with various teams within CA-CIB at varying levels of seniority.
