Description of the Department
Within CA-CIB Americas IGE, Loan Review Unit is an independent third line of defense control function in the US, which performs comprehensive risk assessment of Credit Agricole’s US loan book. The loan review reporting covers the quality and completeness of the credit analysis, effectiveness of the bank’s risk management practices and adherence to all policies and procedures.
The Loan Review function reports to the Head of Audit Americas, which in turn reports to the Head of Inspection Generale in Paris.
Summary:
CA-CIB is looking for a senior VP level individual to join the Loan Review team in New York. He/She will assist in the completion of the Loan Review program by performing detailed credit analysis of selected credits across all business lines under Loan Review’s purview. The individual will also participate with Head Office teams on global Credit Risk Reviews (as requested). He/ She will be responsible for the presentation of the credit analysis performed, and related findings and recommendations to various departments involved in generating, underwriting, approving and monitoring the credit facilities. This role is a great opportunity to strengthen credit fundamentals across multiple sectors and contribute to the enhancement of the loan review foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
·Work with the Head of Loan Review and other team members to develop objectives and plans for each portfolio review.
·Prepare credit file reviews, which will include analysis of the initial credit underwriting, annual risk assessment by Credit Risk department, verification of the internal rating classification of the borrowers in accordance with the rating matrix guidelines, review of collateral for determination of adequacy in accordance with agreements and credit approvals, etc. The review will also include an assessment of the accuracy and timeliness of Front Office / Credit Risk (RPC) updates with regards to changes in the credit profile of the borrowers – including improvements as well as deteriorations.
·Build framework for continuous monitoring of the high risk portfolios to support oversight of credit activities and reporting processes.
·Accuracy and timely assessment of risk ratings and adjustments and its ongoing monitoring by the Credit Risk function.
·Compliance with credit and operational policies and procedures governed both internally and externally, in addition to regulatory guidance.
·Lead the portfolio reviews and present conclusions (recommendations and observations) to general management of the Business Lines and to the Credit Risk department.
·Closely follow changes in accounting standards that may impact the credit analysis of international corporate credits. Maintain level of awareness for new Loan Review and/or Audit trends and adjust accordingly.
·Assist the Head of Loan Review with responding and communicating with internal & external auditors (Regulatory & Bank auditors) during exams
