Job summary

EIG LatAm is the regional platform for the Energy & Infrastructure Group (within SFI) in Latin America. As such, the team covers all sectors for EIG, notably: Power, Infrastructure, Mining and Oil & Gas (RBL, midstream and downstream). The Team acts in several roles within these sectors, including project finance arranging, advisory and from time to time undertakes some coverage responsibilities. Key markets for the team are Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil. The team is responsible for originating and executing transactions within this platform, as well as monitoring our portfolio of assets and managing exposures. Work is generally conducted in deal teams which change with each transaction, enabling team members to learn from one another and gain experience from a variety of sectors and geographies. We also work closely with other areas of the bank such as DOD, CIB, GIB, securitisation and GMD with the goal of serving our customers with the best solutions and maximising cross-sales within the bank.

EIG LatAm is seeking to recruit a Director to assist us in our growing business and further develop the team.


Main Responsibilities:

·       As a senior transactor, lead the structuring, distribution of project finance transactions in Latin America: financial analysis, due diligence, internal approvals, term-sheet negotiation, documentation and support to syndication.

·       Process credit applications for approval of transactions including preparation of a summary of transaction, description of main participants and detailed risk and contracts analysis, as well as financial modeling and forecasting project outcomes.  
·       In coordination with our Head of Portfolio, monitor risks and opportunities in portfolio: assist in negotiating complex waivers, review and sign-off on annual reviews prepared by the more junior team members, identify financing optimization opportunities and maintain dialogue open with the sponsors of our project companies.
·       Assist in budget preparation, identification of new opportunities, RWA optimization.

·       Supervision and coaching of VP-level and more junior staff in credit development, portfolio analysis, modelling and documentation, as well as marketing efforts.
·       Take the lead in marketing efforts, sector research and other commercial or administrative duties.
·       Each task requires a strong interaction with the other members of the Energy and Infrastructure Group, and with other business lines (DOD, GMD, CIB, GIB); work will generally be within transaction teams and candidate will be expected to lead certain aspects of transactions and at times entire transactions.
·       Strong analytical skills and experience in structured credits
·       Demonstrated team player, willing to train and coach our junior staff
·       Ability to work under time pressure and multi-task
·       Knowledge of relevant Credit Agricole directives and processes is a strong plus
