Job summary


Crédit Agricole S.A. London branch is a funding entity raising Medium/Long-Term funds on the wholesale markets (bonds under the following programs: EMTN, USMTN, Samurai, Panda, Kangaroo, etc.) and lending the proceeds of these issuances to Crédit Agricole S.A. Group’s subsidiaries (loans and borrowings activity). The scope of products also includes issuing covered bonds and Certificates of Deposits. It also includes hedging derivative transactions (IRS, CIRS, FX Swaps).

The Operation team is responsible for all Back Office processes and controls.

You will monitor the transactions, process the different events during the trade lifecycle, and liaise with the different counterparties for settlement issues. You will also be responsible for maintaining the adequate operational procedures.


1.- Key Responsibilities – Back Office


  • Processing of deal tickets, confirmations and associated payments

Processing of the refinancing instruments in the Bank’s core system, i.e: CALYPSO. These transactions include issuance of bonds and covered bonds, issuance of Certificates of Deposits, interbank deposits, intragroup loans and borrowings, IRS, CIRS, FX Spot, Forward and FX Swaps:

- Confirmations and matching,

- Payments and Settlements (in particular via SWIFT, ensuring cut-off times are respected and monitoring receipt of funds),

- Ensuring matching of settlement instructions

- Reconciliation and payment of brokers invoices

- Management of corporate actions

-Invoices payments


  • Daily short-term Funding requirement management

- Calculation of the internal funding requirement and input of related trades into BLOFI

- Cash management of the Branch Nostro accounts

  • Reconciliation of the Bank’s Nostro accounts

- Checking payments and receipts recorded in the Bank’s ledgers against the entries provided by the Bank’s correspondents via Swift Statement messages.


  • Reconciliation BO vs accounting regarding P&L calculation
  • Ad-hoc reportings (e.g. EMIR/MIFID, etc.)
  • Perform the level 1 controls aiming at securing the processes from an operational point of view


 Contact with other departments


  • Day-to-day contacts with the other departments of Crédit Agricole S.A. London branch (in particular:  Front-Office dpt., Accounting dpt. and Risk and Controls unit).

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

A bachelors degree within a relevant discipline.


  • Previous experience within a middle or back office position within an investment banking or similar environment 

Required skills

  • Good knowledge of the financial products and understanding of the operational risk
  • Good analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to learn, adapt quickly and instigate change and be accurate and able to prioritise effectively in order to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills

Technical skills required

  • VBA, Access, SQL, MS Office skills
