Summary
A software development position which requires strong C# skills developed during at least two years of professional experience. The successful candidate will have a great enthusiasm for delivery, good technical background, exceptional team-working skills, and a desire to learn investment banking and FX trading. He or she will analyse, design, and develop solutions and also provide level 3 support for production systems as required.
C# skills ideally would include both GUI and server-side development. The candidate should have understanding of relational databases and SQL, .NET, and messaging middleware such as MQSeries, Solace, or Kafka. Familiarity with C++ and Java are also advantageous, as is any previous banking experience.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will work on development / projects for the FX cash IT projects team on a mixture of in-house bespoke systems and vendor products with in-house integration code. These include:
· Sigma – in-house spot FX trade management and position keeping system
· Barracuda – vendor order-management system with in-house integration code
· Orchestrade – vendor FX forwards, swaps, and NDF trade management system
· FCO Blotter – in-house FX option entry and blotter; responsibility of cash dev team because of technology fit
· Deal Hub – vendor trade STP and routing
Level 3 production support is also required at times.

Position reports to the FX Cash Development Lead
Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
· Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
· Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
· Responsible for the implementation of internal systems and controls and ensuring adherence to requirements.

· Other members of the FX Cash development team
· Sales and Trading customers in front-office
· First-line support team for FX Cash systems
· Development teams of connected IT systems
Key External contacts
Vendor relationships with Barracuda, Deal Hub, Orchestrade, database, and middleware vendors
ESSENTIAL:
A degree in an IT-related subject with professional experience in software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
ESSENTIAL:
Experienced software developer, including time in a fast-paced, highly agile and delivery-oriented culture.
DESIRABLE:
Experience with investment banking or Foreign Exchange trading.
ESSENTIAL:
Team work under pressure
Ability to learn the FX business
DESIRABLE:
Understanding of FX cash trading and FX order management.
ESSENTIAL:
Experience of both GUI and server and client-side programming in an object-oriented language (C#, .NET being a must).
Understanding of SQL and RDBMS (SQL Server and Sybase DB).
Understanding of messaging middleware.
Understanding of agile project delivery.
DESIREABLE:
Expertise in MS SQL server and Sybase preferred.
Understanding of service-oriented, micro-services design concepts, and clean interface design.
