Job summary

Key Responsibilties

  • Responsible for the supervision and oversight of a team and / or of workflow and functions.
  • Responsible for operations and transaction processing, with prompt & decisive resolution over exceptions encountered.
  • Assist the Department Head to ensure that regulatory, bank’s policies, guidelines, control and compliance requirements are strictly adhered to.
  • Review new products and requirements with Bank’s business and/or support units and setup procedures to operationalize such service delivery to customers. Provide trade technical advice to BSGs, Relationship Managers and customers (very rarely) when needed.
  • Measurement and adherence to KPIs
  • Keeping errors and operational risks under control
  • Managing crisis without operational loss.
  • Driving Efficiency Gain related projects through various initiatives / changes.
  • Deep dive in process and review/authorizing high value and complex transactions.
  • People Management – Recruitment, development, training team and managing attrition.
  • Ensure timely review & renewal that all process notes, flowcharts, checklist etc. that is referred to by the team and annual review as applicable.
  • Support H.O.D. in Audit related activities and ensure Process Hygiene to have NIL findings.
  • Flexible to working hours, as per Organisation’s requirements.

Experience Required

  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other operating system skills especially using emails
  • 10-12 plus years of prior experience in Trade Finance (Preferred).

  • Should have prior experience in leading team and people management.

  • Strong knowledge and compliance of various latest provisions of applicable ICC rules and regulations like

    o   Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600)

    o   International Standby Practices (ISP 98)

    o   Uniform Rules for Reimbursement (URR 725)

    o   Uniform Rules for Collection (URC 522)

    o   Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758)

    o   International Standard Banking Practice (ISBP 745)

  • Certifications like CITF, CDCS & CSDG by LIBF will be added advantage but not mandatory.

  • Knowledge of French will be an added advantage (not mandatory)

  • In addition, any other relevant certifications will also be of added advantage (not mandatory) e.g. CTF by IIBF.

  • Knowledge of Reconciliation, Funds transfer, Forex payments, SWIFT etc. would be necessary for the role of a Validator but not of a Document examiner (unless executing dual role-refer to secondary activities)
