Job summary

 

Purpose

Responsible for processing credit requests and annual reviews with a primary focus on Power, Oil and Gas, Commodities Finance.

Key responsibilities

Preparation of the credit application and credit analysis based on requests received from the Front Office in view of issuing an independent risk opinion:

  • Assessment of the creditworthiness of the borrower based on analysis of sector trends and drivers, market positions, peer comparison, financial statements and financial projections when applicable.
  • Assessment of the transaction, the legal structure, terms and conditions.
  • Assign the adequate Basel risk parameters (including rating, LGD).
  • Submission of files to NY Credit Committee and present the risk opinion.
  • Frequent interaction with the various Front Office teams to organize the deal pipeline, discuss the risks of the transaction and mitigants, the commercial strategy and profitability.
  • Active coordination with RPC HO to answer any inquiries for additional information/explanations, follow-up on rating validations, and communicate credit issues and trend as appropriate.
  • Active monitoring of the sectors and portfolios covered, and communication to senior management locally and in HO as appropriate; contribute to and attend Early warning and SAR meetings.
  • Assist in any internal or external audit assessments (FRB, SNC, IG), contribute to the USRC, to portfolio reviews, loan reviews, or special projects as needed.
  • May also be asked to analyze counterparties in other sectors depending on workloads.

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Education Essential: Bachelor's degree in business / finance

 

Education Desirable: Master’s degree 

 

Level of minimal experience

11 years and more

Experience

Experience Essential: 10+ years of credit experience at a bank and/or a credit rating agency

Experience Desirable: - Experience in sectors covered (Commodities Finance) is a strong plus.
