Job summary


  • Contribute towards the origination and execution of Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and syndicated/bilateral loan transactions for financial institutions (i.e. insurance companies, banks, asset managers, etc), corporates and other issuers in South East Asia (Singapore, India, Philippines and Indonesia). This will entail working closely with the originators as well as various constituents internally, but especially Coverage Banking, DCM Syndicate and Loan Distribution.
  • Be the responsible person for the Credit Risk Insurance (CRI) activity in APAC interacting with internal stakeholders (notably financing business lines) as well as insurance brokers
  • The Associate/Associate Director role is based in Singapore and in support of senior DOA Originator

Key Responsibilities

  • Support DOA Originators’ marketing efforts and assist the team to ensure smooth execution of DCM and Syndicated/bilateral Loan mandated transactions
  • Provide support for executing all types of debt instrument across the capital structure, including senior unsecured, and subordinated debt/capital, for clients in Asia including corporates, banks, and sovereigns across the rating spectrum
    Prepare marketing pitch books and presentations, mandate letters and term sheets
  • Contribute to the credit process (Transaction Request, BOM)
    Provide regular analysis of market conditions and trends, create and update marketing pitch books and presentations
    Prepare Income, pipeline and data reporting – GMD (bond business) and DOD (loan business)
  • Assist in the preparation of Information Memorandums, organizing roadshows and signing ceremonies
    Work closely with Coverage Banking, Syndicate, Credit
  • Research and Trading to identify, market to and obtain mandates from major Financial Institutions (“FI’s”), Corporates and other issuers in South East Asia
  • The professional will have specific regional and sectorial responsibility as defined by the Head of DOA, Asia-Pacific. The scope of these responsibilities may change over time. Currently, the focus has been assigned to the South East Asia area.
  • Contribute to promote CA-CIB’s general global bond and syndicated loan capabilities to the market at large through proactive marketing. Improve the general awareness of and confidence in our bond capabilities internally amongst banking/coverage, sales and trading.
  • With respect to CRI, provide feedback to Business Lines on estimated market appetite when requested and in the context of DOD Opinions, execute NDAs and bind policies with insurers whilst working closely with the CRI Team in London
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Degree preferably in Business or Economics
  • Minimally 5 years of experience
  • Substantial experience in banking with good knowledge in DCM products
  • Solid experience in supporting originators, DCM and Syndicated Loan products
  • Strong credit skills
