Job summary


Software Engineering Team Manager for our Risk, Compliance, Referentials & Finance IT (RFI) Department of Crédit Agricole CIB. 

Coordinates & manages a team in charge of software engineering development and support L1/L2/L3. Ensures that all the projects, activities and tasks under the team’s responsibility are performed within quality standards, on schedule and cost-effectively.

Main responsibilities

Provide Team Leadership

  • Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive team effort

Focus the Team on Customer Requirements

  • Build Roadmap Short-term, Long-term of his activity
  • Coordinate with internal & external customers
  • Initiate sub-groups / sub-teams as appropriate to resolve issues & perform tasks in parallel

Coordinate Team Logistics

  • Ensure deliverables are prepared in line with requirements
  • Help keep the team focused & on track
  • Work with IT Managers, Head of Sections & Departments to obtain necessary resources to support requirements
  • Establish meeting times, venue & agendas

Communicate team status, task accomplishment, and direction

  • Analyze status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule
  • Keep Head of department & section informed of task accomplishment, issues & status
  • Serve as a focal point to communicate & resolve interface & integration issues with other teams & business partners
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved within the team
  • Provide guidance to team based on management direction

Business - Delivery management

  • Reach agreement on plans for projects and services provided by the team
  • Ensure the projects, activities & tasks under the team’s responsibility are performed within quality standards, on schedule and cost-effectively
  • Manage budget and capacity allocation according to priorities communicated by functional manager
  • Ensure each solution developed by team fulfills the client needs

Lean Management - Practices


  • Effective performance dialogue & meeting cascade are in place, facilitating team performance improvement & escalation of problems
  • Capacity of team is actively managed in order to meet defined priorities & sustain Continuous Improvement
  • Problems affecting the team’s effectiveness are proactively addressed & resolutions follow-up
  • Identified improvement actions are implemented & followed according to  defined governance
  • Formalize & correct application of standard processes & best practices at operational efficiency

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


  • Having at least 5-8 years of Software Development management in banking industry
  • Experienced in people management and staff development
  • Experienced in team geo-distributed context

Technical skills required
