Job summary

Liaison Officer for Export Trade Finance (ETF)

  • Processing export letter of credit advising/confirmation & liaising with relationship manager & Clients Responsible.
  • Processing outward collection with and without forfaiting.
  • Able to support Team Lead whenever is necessary.

Main Duties details:

  1. Review export LC and contacting customers to clarity on ambiguous terms
  2. Review export schedules against documents presented by clients/banks before scanning over to platform
  3. Ensure signatures of clients on applications are verified by P&R Dept before posting into Eboni for processing
  4. Ensure that transactions are processed in conformity with conditions of BLA/TFl or delegated authority
  5. Ensure transactions posted into Eboni are correct.
  6. Monitor/trace on posted transactions in Eboni that issuance/payment are executed within the time frame in SLA or as highlighted
  7. Perform any sanction controls as per procedures

Secondary Duties details:

  1. Perform monthly supervision of GL and quarterly supervision of physical files of TE clients
  2. Backup any duties whenever required
  3. Involve in any projects being assigned by department head

Supplementary Information

Provide secure, quality & efficient support for ETF which includes: -

1) Manage Operational risks

  • Ensure that transactions are processed;
    • Within acceptable technical risks and in compliance with bank’s rules and operation procedures
    • In conformity with conditions of BLA/TFl or delegated authority;
    • Timely processing of transactions by platform
    • Timely and accurately of all events in the life of the transactions, including resolution of suspense items
    • Responsible for the swift resolution of any pending items (events, payments, accounting entries, reporting) with ETF platform

2) Provide good customer service

  • Maintain same day processing
  • Provide appropriate technical advice to customers and Relationship Managers

3) Business continuity

  • Provide backup whenever required

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor's in Business Administration - Banking and Finance specializations or any other related degree certifications. 

Level of minimal experience
