Job summary

The Global Central Bank Sales Team caters to central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other official institutions, and has teams in Asia, Middle-East, U.S. and Europe. This is a strategic client segment for the bank. All FICC products in all currencies are traded from within this team: Forex, interest rates, credit, money market instruments, plain vanilla and structured. The European Central Banks Sales Team is a division of the Global team, and is split between London and Paris CACIB locations. It has currently 5 senior team members including a Head of team based in Paris.


Key Responsibilities:

Daily tasks:

  • Maintain awareness of all economic and financial data likely to affect the products being marketed
  • Assist with the pricing of interest rate derivatives and other products
  • Assist with trade idea generation and market analysis
  • Assist with market updates
  • Assist with client queries by gathering the relevant information from different teams (research, syndicate, DCM, trading)
  • Pre and post trade assistance with term sheets and confirmations as well as communicate with the various Middle Office and Back Office Teams
  • Communicate and co-ordinate flows and orders with trading and global sales team
  • Produce a daily End-of-Day report and communicate to all stakeholders


  • Assist Senior Sales to insure clients are suitably classified (under FCA rules) and are dealt with appropriately
  • Assist Senior Sales to ensure clients and transactions are cleared by credit, legal, compliance and back office before trading
  • Assist Senior Sales to ensure dealing remains within set time limits and efficient/ethical execution of client transactions

Counterparties and clients:

  • On occasion, you may be asked to join client meetings and outings to promote the bank and its products


  • Network with contacts in the business to generate business for the Global Markets Division.
  • Attend regular meetings with other members of the team to review marketing strategy and exchange ideas.


  • Report to the Paris Desk Head for Central Banks Sales on a business/functional basis.
  • Preparation of various sales reporting documents for management.

Systems Used:

  • Internal - Excel, COMS (order system), Omega
    Sigma, COQS (option pricer) Jetstream, OrchesTrade, Third Party Trading Venues etc
  • External - Reuters, Bloomberg, Internet

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities:

  •  Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy. Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Postgraduate degree – MA/MSc/PhD/Doctorate or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Postgraduate degree in Maths, Economics or Finance
