Job summary

The Head of Credit Coordination is responsible for developing and maintaining a plan for the beginning to end management of all credit files in the scope described below. The group supports the Coverage teams and product lines by coordinating the credit process and ensuring high quality information is provided to decision makers in advance of relevant committees.


The Head of Credit Coordination serves as the central point of contact for all credit requests within his or her scope and is heavily relied upon by RPC, Coverage, the Head Office GCO team, the various product lines, middle and back offices, and the Head of Credit Delegation Americas.


The position will have up to five direct reports.



Beginning to end management of credit process for all CIB Americas transactions and annual reviews:


prepare detailed written credit proposal
coordinate approval timeline with all involved parties
coordinate required Coverage and product line contributions to credit proposals
address any credit concerns / questions raised by RPC
present at / attend relevant credit committees as necessary
address any documentation concerns / questions raised by Legal
ensure accurate / correct booking of all transactions

Coverage / product line advisory: 

-Vet incoming requests and identify potential issues ahead of time; work with -Coverage and/or RPC to resolve these issues
-Strategize with Coverage to find the best path to a credit approval
-Ensure that Coverage and product lines are aware of upcoming renewals
-Work closely with CA-CIB network offices

List of portfolios directly managed:

Chicago (Automotive, Agribusiness)
MNC (International)
New York Group (Packaging, Aerospace & Defense)
LATAM (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico)

The Brazil, Houston, and Telecom teams manage their files directly. Credit Coordination is involved only when necessary for these three portfolios.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


• 8+ years of experience
• Minimum seven years banking experience in relevant areas

Required skills

-Familiarity with CA-CIB internal organization, policies and procedures (specifically RPC's), systems, key contacts, etc.

Technical skills required

• Very strong legal documentation skills


• French and/or Spanish speaking a plus
