Summary
 

Operations & Country COOs (OPC) in Hong Kong is made up of four main teams:

-         Financing & Trade Operations (FTO) including Documentary & Guarantee Operations, Credit & Loan Operations

-         Transaction Banking Operations (TBO) covering client account operations

-         Capital Markets Operations (CMO) including Middle Office, Back Office and Transverse Operations functions

-         Asia & Middle-East Operations Projects (AOP) covering CMO, FTO, TBO and Transversal projects

 

 

 
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all Operations projects and be the key player for IT projects involving all sectors of OPC (Financing and Investment bank).

  • Manage the relationship between Asian sites including Dubai with Paris, London and NY for project initiatives involving those sites

  • Manage the relationship with Internal departments (e.g. Front-Office, Risk, Finance, Organization, etc.) for any initiatives involving the operations of OPC.

  • Design / put into action project management methodology for Operations projects or for phases of IT projects

  • Take the lead in proposing initiatives aiming at a better efficiency or security in the set-up

  • Define and implement a proper communication set-up around Operations projects

  • Document the project activities with proper procedures

  • Liaise regularly with H/O Operations projects teams (OPC and GIT)  to share best practices and keep a unified project methodology

  • Manage the participation of OPC within the NAP workflow of the Bank in order to ensure a complete and accurate vision and collaboration

  • In charge of the Innovation by defining and implementing disruptive solutions (ie: Robotics, Artificial Intelligence) at the region level

  • In charge of the transformation of the Operations in term of Change Management.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Postgraduate degree – MA/MSc/PhD/Doctorate or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Master degree holder, with academic background in Finance, IT or relevant discipline

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in a Capital Markets and/or Corporate Banking Back Office or Middle Office environment with a key role played in numerous Operations projects
  • Good knowledge of Middle-Office and Back-office processes and of financial products trade life cycle

Required skills

  • Good judgment, alertness and common sense
  • Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skill
  • Good problem Solving skills
  • Rigorous in his/her work
  • Analytical turn of mind

 

 

Technical skills required

  • Versatile with PC tools and applications, e.g. MS Office, Visio, VBA
