Summary
Responsible for selling Interest Rates, FX, Credit and Money Markets products to existing customers of the Bank and liaising with other areas of the Bank with the aim of attracting business from potential new customers. The customer base includes Banks, Asset Managers, Insurance Cos, Pension Funds, Prop desks & Local Banks. Primary focus will be on hedge funds , Asset Managers, Insurance Co and Banks.
Key Responsibilities
- Market products by speaking with customers about their needs, financial markets and propose suitable ideas and recommendations. The approach varies according to the customers and the products:
- Financial Institutions - (asset managers, insurance companies, SSA HF’s and banks) provide information on the markets and advise the customers on how to hedge exposures, providing prices and ideas, in line with objectives of the client and CA-CIB.
- Identify, target and solicit new customers.
- Successfully market GMD products and services to potential clients.
- Originate transactions from clients and co-ordinate the efficient execution of the trading desk.
- Execute the placement of transactions in accordance with established risk management procedures and risk parameters.
- Contribute to the formulation of marketing strategies.
- Maintain awareness of all economic and financial data likely to affect the products being marketed.
- Develop knowledge of client needs and co-ordinate the Bank’s efforts to service customer organisations.
- Plan and organise client visits and meetings.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers / Senior Bankers in other areas of the bank regarding marketing opportunities.
- Aim to meet individual objectives and targets and overall team and product line budget.
- Reporting to Head of HK/SG FI - Flow FX & Rates Sales
- Through regular meetings and on an informal basis on the progress of the business and specific issues.
- Attend regular meetings with the region Sales teams to review market strategy, exchange ideas and receive updates on any important administrative matters.
- Ensure clients are suitably classified (under local regulator rules) and are dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure clients are cleared by credit, legal, compliance and back office before trading (onboarding).
- Adhere to and understand risks to the bank and the client resulting from marketing initiatives or successful conclusion of transactions.
- Entertain clients to promote the bank and its products.
- Network with contacts in the business to generate business.
