Job summary
Summary: The Head of Loan Review Americas is responsible for ensuring an independent credit review of the Loan Portfolio booked in the US Branches and offices of CACIB on a timely basis. This review covers in particular the adequacy of the credit risk ratings for loans booked in the Americas, assessment of the quality of supervision of the loan documentation, management of collateral, the tracking and updating of files and ongoing file management in accordance with the Risk Policies and Procedures of CACIB and to generate reports documenting the results of portfolio and individual file reviews. Reports are to be sent to Management in New York and Paris.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain Credit Risk Loan Review policies and procedures, identify the staffing required to adequately run the department, hire and train staff for the department, plan the annual Loan Review schedule as well as multi-year loan review program, adjust program as necessary to recognize emerging risks, ensure that the quality of the credit reviews is maintained while improving efficiency and complete the adequate coverage of portfolio on an annual basis. In particular:
•Define and continuously enhance credit risk review procedures and methodology in conjunction with internal audit central team including the steps to follow to conduct a loan review, the templates for credit write-ups and how to analyze technical credit risk concepts taking into account US specificities.
•Develop and execute an annual Loan Review Plan, by function/unit/portfolio, in accordance with relevant government statutes and regulations and Bank’s internal policies and procedures. Ensure full coordination of reviews and processes with Inspection Générale (CACIB and CASA) to optimize the use of bank’s resources and expertise.
•Prioritize reviews according to a Portfolio risk assessment, cycle, urgencies, and comprehensiveness.
•Deliver timely, high quality, credit risk reviews covering individual portfolio risk profile and portfolio trends; individual obligor risk rating validity, integrity and methodology as well as compliance with credit and operational policies and procedures governed both internally and externally. In particular, these reviews should comply with regulatory guidance (examination manual for US Branches and Agencies of FBO) and result in formalized Loan Review reports.
• Identification, in coordination with RPC and Business Lines, of problem credits, exceptions to loan policy, documentation exceptions and related issues and elevate concerns (as appropriate) to Business Line/Support Groups, as well as Senior Management
•Document and circulate Loan Review Program and Analysis, in a traceable way, and ensure proper follow up is executed when recommendations are made.
•Closely follow latest Loan Review trends and adapt the applications with the Regional Audit needs within Bank.
