Job summary

Position Summary:

Structured Commodity Finance (SCF) is a product line that belongs to Global Commodity Finance (GCF), itself part of International Trade and Transaction Banking (ITB).

The main goal of ITB is to support Corporate and Financial Institution clients with the management of their international trade and transaction banking needs.

GCF-SCF provides short to medium term corporate loans to CACIB's clients whose activities essentially relate to the commodity sector: oil&gas, metals&mining, agri products. The loan products are meant to be structured and secured and suit particularly well commodity players located or exposed to emerging market risks.

Main responsibilities:

  • Main duties:

Contribute to SCF Asia activities (ex-China), reporting to Head of GCF Singapore and under the supervision of Global Head of SCF. Key duties would involve the following:

-     Commercial activities (client mapping, marketing) including origination through pitches and client visits;

-     Credit processes (preparing and presenting credit files);

-     Due diligences on clients and transactions;

-     Loan portfolio follow-up; and

-     Market intelligence.

Liaise within GCF business line, with Coverage Teams and other business lines in order to optimize synergies and revenues.

Assist Head of GCF Singapore and Global Head of SCF on transverse topics.

  • Secondary duties:

Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including but not limited to the Singapore Compliance manual (including global policies).

Comply with all applicable Financial Security requirements, including but not limited to the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor's Degree in Finance discipline

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


6 years of banking or similar experience with structured commodities finance

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working
- A good team player
