Job summary

**This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong.

Department: Risk and Permanent Control



The individual is attached to the Operational Risk Management – Asia Pacific function and reports to the Head- Operational Risk Management and Credit Administration and Monitoring - Asia Pacific (H-ORMCAM-AP) and ultimately to the Chief Risk Officer – Asia Pacific.


The H-ORMCAM AP animates and supervises the functioning of the Operational Risk Managers (ORM)  in the Branches, Representative Offices and subsidiaries (“the units”) in the Asia Pacific Network.




The primary responsibilities of the Analyst – Operational Risk Management AP are to assist the H–ORMCAM AP in the discharge of her / his functions i.e.

Coordination of the ORM network in the AP region
Ensuring consistency of the Operational Risk Management setup:
Providing alerts and reporting to Regional Management and HO:
Providing ongoing support to the units in AP e.g. advisory and guidance on Operational Risk issues, launch of relevant initiatives, Organization of Training, dissemination of best practices and information sharing
Organization of the Regional Internal Control Committee and preparation of the material for this forum
Participation in HO initiatives re: Operational Risk Management


The analyst will be required to collate information received from the units and analyze this from a regional perspective with a view to harmonizing the information across the Region. Instances of this aspect are:
Consolidating the annual risk self-assessment exercise received from the units, whilst checking the correctness, completeness and adequacy of the submission by each unit;  
Compiling a weekly dashboard of key Operational Risk developments in the Region to HO; 
Optimizing existing controls and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented when required
Assisting in the H-ORMCAM AP in reviewing the efficiency of the Operational Risk Management setup over time.


In addition to assisting the H – ORMCAM AP, the individual will be required to assist the Head-Operational Risk Management – Hong Kong, in the completion of tasks and campaigns, as and when instructed to do so by the H-ORMCAM AP.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial / Risk Management, Economics, Accounting

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years


• 2-3 years of experience in related functions e.g. credit / operational risk management, internal audit, compliance, business / management control, in a financial institution.

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as of risk management systems.
