About the Summer Analyst Internship:

The Summer Analyst Internship program offers an opportunity for college undergraduates interested in finance and corporate / investment banking to actively participate in this fast-paced and challenging industry. We provide our Summer Analysts with the tools necessary for professional growth and career advancement. The goal of the Summer Analyst program is to develop the ideal candidate into a U.S. Analyst – coverage analyst position upon graduation.

Teams Hiring:
Below are descriptions of our different roles and teams you can be a part of:


Energy and Infrastructure Group (EIG) - Latin America
EIG LatAm is the regional platform for the Energy & Infrastructure Group (within SFI) in Latin America. As such, the team covers all sectors for EIG, notably: Power, Infrastructure, Mining and Oil & Gas (RBL, midstream and downstream). The Team acts in several roles within these sectors, including project finance arranging, advisory and from time to time undertakes some coverage responsibilities. Key markets for the team are Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil. The team is responsible for originating and executing transactions within this platform, as well as monitoring our portfolio of assets and managing exposures.


Energy Infrastructure Group - North America
The portfolio management team is focused on managing a large and diverse portfolio of project financings covering the North American energy & infrastructure sectors. They also support the business origination teams in their efforts to process credit applications and close financings.


Real Estate International
Credit analysis for Commercial Real Estate structure transactions for a portfolio of customers and prospects of the Real Estate, Lodging & Gaming Group. This group performs tasks necessary for securing credit approvals, documentation review, and administration of all credit exposures (single asset financings, portfolio financings, corporate financings and other derivatives/structured deals).

Shipping
The Shipping Group coverage is based on a “product neutral” approach to solve client needs leveraging on the respective product lines of the bank (ECM, DCM, Securitization, Corp. Finance, etc…). It entails debt origination, including managing a debt financing mandate from first client contact, negotiating and structuring a full term sheet, preparing and submitting a loan application based on a rigorous risk analysis of the project, seeing the application through the credit process, and then documenting and closing the debt facility with the support of external legal advisers.

Minimal education level

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • College junior pursuing a degree in Finance or a related field
  • You will not require visa sponsorship for employment in the US now or in the future including OPT and F-1 visa.

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years

Experience

You must be an undergraduate student in their penultimate year of study

Required skills

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Developed oral and written presentation skills
  • Proficient in English. Knowledge in Spanish is desirable (to work in Latin American transactions), but it is not required

Technical skills required

  • Knowledge of accounting and financial statements
  • Some financial modeling skills
  • Advanced knowledge of major computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word (experience using the Bloomberg terminal is a plus)
  • Basic grasp of risk/return analysis concepts and tools 
  • Financial Analysis

Languages

English (Spanish is a plus)
