Assist and support Head of China Desk in his/her dual responsibilities as i) Coverage banker in charge of a portfolio of corporate clients (PCO), and ii) Head of China Desk supporting Chinese corporate business booked in HK (PAM)

Besides, he/she will support the Head of China Desk in the coordination of offshore booking in CACIB Hong Kong of credit facilities for Chinese corporate clients covered in CACIB China.


Key Responsibilities


  • Interface with clients on day-to-day service issues / product enquiries/ Know Your Customer due diligence.

  • Report on administrative issues to be solved,

  • Assist in performing comprehensive review and assessment of profitability and risks, preparing credit packages and assist in monitoring the risk profile of the client portfolio.

  • Assist in preparing internal reports / annual reviews

  • Assist in the marketing of the commercial banking products such as short term credit, guarantees (financial and non financial), cash management, but also other lines of business of the bank, such as trade finance, export finance, foreign exchange / Global Markets Division, syndications and others. In essence, assist to cross sell the various products and services made available to clients.
  • Either through his/her own action or under guidance:

    -  Understand and anticipate the risks associated with the activities of a Corporate and Investment Bank,
    -  Proactively manage risks related to each transaction, along with the concerned business lines, to anticipate default situations and minimize specific provisioning
    -  Follow compliance principles and internal rules, and make sure they are applied
    -  Assist in creating, updating, managing the Know Your Customer (KYC) files.
    -  Understand client’s industry/ business sector, client’s strategy, businesses and financial situation, and anticipate its needs for services.
    -  Facilitate access of other Branches and Units within CA-CIB global network to co-operation with clients

Besides, he/she will support the Head of China Desk for the coordination of offshore booking activities of credit facilities (DOD, ITB) for Chinese clients at CACIB Hong Kong (liaise with FO teams in China, DOD, AMO, OPC, RPC and other internal departments, prepare credit applications and obtain necessary approvals, prepare any internal report as may be required, …)

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• Degree or professional qualifications in Business, Economics or related disciplines

Level of minimal experience

3-5 years


• Some experience in credit and/or conducting KYC and/or customer service, preferably in commercial banking field and with exposure to Chinese Corporate
• Interest and understanding of the global business environment, role and responsibilities of banks and of bankers

• Excellent interpersonal and communication (internal and external) skills with strong attention to details

Technical skills required
