Summary
Within, Operations, Premises & Country COOs (OPC) based in Hong Kong, Capital Market Operations (CMO) teams are responsible to process the transaction activities for Credit, Rates, FXMM, Securities and Equities for multiple geographies (APAC and EMEA). There are 2 teams under CMO HK in charge of:
Capital Market Middle Office (CMM)
Capital Market Back Office (CMB)
The Back Offices (CMB) provides operational services to multiple CA-CIB sites including Europe and Asia for all Capital Markets transaction including FX, MM, Derivatives, Structured trades and Fixed Income activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full processing cycle of bond trades and payments which includes communication, booking, confirmation, reconciliation and settlement.
- Responsible for the confirmation processing of capital markets transactions including FXMM, FXNDF, FX Options, IRS/CIRS, Swaption, Caps and Floors, Structured Products covering Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and other satellites in HK processing hub to ensure the daily operational activities of capital markets products are performed smoothly and efficiently.
- Confirm with CA-CIB customers for the payment flows to be exchanged as part of the Exchange, Treasury and Derivatives activities.
- The Back-Office handles settlements for multiple CACIB entities (e.g. Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai, London & Paris).
- Monitor payments and ensure their proper execution within the strict set deadlines.
- Ensure that daily transactions are processed timely and settled smoothly and efficiently.
- Process the custody service by checking and maintaining the cash movement of the custodian account and assist to investigate if any discrepancy
- Recommend on enhancements to ensure the effectiveness in transaction processing and settlement.
- Keep abreast of special events and special trades
- Ensure deal booking, payments and confirmations are in compliance with local regulations and the internal policy.
- Perform 2nd level of checking / validation
- Communicate with clients or counterparts regarding confirmations, matching, and settlement issues.
- Monitor and follow-up on breaks and discrepancies appeared in system platforms
- Conduct study, investigation or other ad-hoc assignments as directed by the team head
- Proactive and responsive to discrepancy or disagreement issues and active participation in driving towards best possible resolution
