Job summary

Summary

The Candidate will support the team in developing the FI Solutions franchise in the UK, with the objective to become a strategic partner for these clients in interest rate hedging and investment solutions. The candidate will help the team generate investment ideas, become familiar with the relevant regulatory developments and leverage CACIB’s trading and structuring capabilities to provide a consistent and competitive flow and derivative offering to the client base.

Role responsibilities

  • Assist the team in marketing bespoke trade ideas across interest rates products that leverage CACIB’s trading strengths and deliver high value add customer service.
  • Execute derivatives transactions (linear/non-linear), respond to RFQs in accordance with established risk management procedure and compliance policy.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the regulatory and accounting developments affecting the industry.  Coordinate with the structuring team to develop relevant hedging solution and investment themes for the client base.
  • Strengthen the bank’s relevance with existing clients and identify new prospective clients in multiple sectors (Banks Pension, Insurance and SSAs). 
  • Follow strategic developments and periodic results publications, attend investor’s calls and highlight hedging and/or investment decisions resulting from specific market or regulatory developments.
  • Act as the primary backup coverage for the senior sales people on the desk. Book transaction tickets in internal or vendors’ systems (eg STT, markitwire)
  • Familiarise with the bank’s derivatives pricing tools. Shadow pricing of intricate interest rate derivatives packages and asset swap transactions.  Develop a pricing framework, using existing tools, for interest rate derivatives and asset swap packages.
  • Liaise with Relationship Managers and Senior Bankers regarding marketing opportunities.
  • Must control the following types of Risk:
    • Counterparty Risk
    • Reputation Risk
    • Operational Risk
    • Suitability and Appropriateness
    • Conduct
  • Alert Management on any of the breaches which might have a material impact on the Company’s performance or compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • The Sales intern must ensure that the commercial strategy and actions are aligned with Coverage
  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
  • Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
  • Refrain from taking any steps which could lead to the removal of certification of fitness and propriety to perform the role.
  • Take necessary steps to satisfy the annual certification process.
  • Comply with all applicable conduct rules as prescribed by the regulator
