Job summary

**This position will be under the Employee Referral Program in Hong Kong.


Department: Capital Market Operations

Team: FX/MM Back-Office



Hong Kong has established a Back Office processing hub which provides operational services to multiple CA-CIB sites.  The activities focusing on London, Paris and Asian booking including:


  • FX Settlement of value same day Asian/Gulf currencies (London/Paris booking)
  • CLS settlement cycle
  • FXMM Settlement (Asia booking)


We are looking for experienced professional to join this team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for daily settlement of capital markets transactions mainly FXMM covering London, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and other satellites in HK processing hub to ensure the daily operational activities of capital markets products are performed smoothly and efficiently.
  • To monitor the CLS Pay-in / Pay-out grid settlements between our Agent Banks and CLS Bank.
  • To coordinate and implement contingency measures in the event of system failure.
  • The identification discrepancies pertaining to trade and settlement details and liaise with FO, broker and external counterparty for any trade discrepancy.
  • The telephonic agreement of Foreign Exchange trades, with both counterparts in the Far East and with those who operate a 24 hour support service around the world.
  • To monitor payment generation in back office system throughout the day to ensure that all intra day cut off times are met.
  • The capture/validation of payment messages directly into SWIFT Alliance. (MT202, MT202COV, MT103 and third party payments).
  • To manage the cancellation and replacement process in all back office settlement systems ensuring that the banks settlement obligations are accurately fulfilled
  • To provide operational support for the Front Office’s during active time zones in a professional and effective manner
  • Provide management with information on unusual booking and settlement matters.
  • Assist Head of Back Office / Line manager to carry out common projects / global initiatives
  • Assist in system enhancement and responsible for UAT testing
  • Perform investigation in settlement discrepancies and related outstanding issues
  • Participate in ad hoc projects assigned by management from time to time

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• Degree preferably in a Finance or Economics

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


• Minimum 6 years related experience in payments / FXMM Processing
• Related experience FX/MM processing
