For our growing German Corporate and Leveraged Finance Team (CLF) we are looking for an
(Associate) Director Leveraged Finance (f/m/d)
Your mission
Origination and execution of new Leveraged Buy Out deals for top tier international Private Equity clients as well as financings for corporate clients within the German CLF team.
Key responsibilities
- You are closely involved in and responsible for building new business relationships with private equity funds and the overall growth of the franchise
- You will execute all types of transactions being involved during all transaction steps with significant level of responsibility for various work streams, including primary risk assessment, analysis of transactions (via Information Memoranda, due diligence reports, participation in management presentations, etc.), financial structuring, review and negotiation of loan documentation and preparation of credit applications and their presentation in the respective credit committees
- You will be responsible for and supervise the preparation and presentation of marketing materials, including production of pitch books in liaison with other business lines (e.g. DCM, ECM, M&A and debt syndication teams)
- You identify commercial needs of key clients and secure cross-selling opportunities
- You will develop and maintain close relationships with other market practitioners, including financing parties, lawyers and professional advisors
- You are responsible for the credit management of designated portfolio files
- You will train and develop junior team members
You will be fully integrated in the team (8 male / 1 female) with our common goal to improve your technical and soft skills and gain in autonomy.

Minimal education level
Postgraduate degree – MA/MSc/PhD/Doctorate or equivalent
Academic qualification / Speciality
- Excellent graduate degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting or related field
Level of minimal experience
6-10 years
Experience
Profound knowledge of the financial sector, with at least 6-8 years of experience working in a Leveraged, Structured or Corporate Financing department of a bank or relevant advisory firm
Significant experience in evaluation of credit risks, preparation and presentation of credit files, programming and interpretation of cash flow models, managing internal credit processes and structuring, negotiating and documenting LBO financings
Required skills
You are strong in verbal and written communication and will be able to work at all levels in an international organization
You will be able to work under time pressure with different priorities and tight project deadlines
- You are a team player with high level of self-motivation, commitment and integrity
Languages
Excellent language skills in German and English; further languages would be a plus
