Summary

Our Global Investment Banking Asia Pacific (“GIB APAC”) team actively covers the 4 business lines of the Global Investment Banking (“GIB”) set-up of Credit Agricole CIB (“the Bank”):

  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) advisory: cross-border buy/sell-side advisory engagement
  • Equity Capital Markets (ECM): IPOs, capital increases, secondary listings in HK, Convertible Bonds, arranging pre-IPO transactions etc.
  • Strategic Equity Transactions (SET): equity financing, hedging schemes, derivatives-based acquisition/disposal solutions, etc.
  • Structured Financial Solutions (SFS): financial debt optimization solutions, tailor-made financing solutions based on illiquid assets, etc.

You will be joining a dynamic team that has developed throughout the years a solid track-record with large and key clients of the bank in the region, in particular in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, as well as selectively in Indonesia and India.  You will also work closely with teams in Europe and the US/LATAM on cross-border M&A advisory / ECM opportunities, including with our stockbroking partners.

 


Key Responsibilities

You will be covering the above 4 business lines of GIB. by:

  • Actively supporting and participating in origination efforts / business intelligence initiatives (preparation of credentials, market materials and deal profiles, analysis of valuation benchmarks and investor demand implications, press monitoring, ECM ideas etc…);
  • Actively participating in the marketing of ideas / opportunities to existing and prospective clients (preparation of dedicated pitches, presentation for general meetings …);
  • Actively participating in the execution of mandates (working on valuation and financial modelling, drafting of M&A process documentation (teaser / information memorandum) and ECM related offering materials, liaising with other syndicate banks and third parties on public deals, risk management and deal filing, assisting in deal due diligence processes…).

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree holder, with strong academic background in Finance, Corporate Finance, Strategy, Capital Markets and Banking, Financial Markets or Economics.

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years

Experience

1-3 years of relevant prior experience (including summer internships, trainee programs, permanent analyst positions) in a reputable investment bank, M&A boutique, or Advisory firm. Candidates with experience in M&A, ECM, Leverage Finance or Private Equity to be considered in priority, but other experiences such as in Transaction Service, Rating Advisory or DCM Advisory to also be appreciated.

Required skills

  • Solid analytical skills, self-motivated, curious, proactive with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to manage pressure and work under tight deadline. Flexible to work beyond normal hours including weekends

Technical skills required

  • Strong foundation in financial modelling (Excel) and pitching (PowerPoint)
  • Strong entrepreneur and team spirit, wiling to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Keen interest in Asia Pacific equity markets to be demonstrated

Languages

Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of Mandarin, French, Japanese, or Korean is a plus
