Job summary

A senior software development position which requires excellent C# skills and strong knowledge of the Orchestrade vendor product, FX cash products, and FX derivative products.  In addition to day-to-day coding work, the candidate will provide technical leadership and mentoring for other developers on the Orchestrade product and the FX options and cash business.  The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, and excellent collaboration skills.  He or she will analyse, design, and develop solutions and also provide level 3 support for production systems as required.  There will also be opportunities for ownership of specific deliveries, requiring some project management skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The candidate will spend a majority of time working on Orchestrade development / projects according to the needs of FX Risk IT and our customers.  This will include:

 

·        Developing code with the FX Cash IT team for FX forward, swap, and NDF products,

·        Developing code with the FX Options IT team for FX derivative and precious metal products,

·        Developing code for other FX IT projects as needed,

·        Providing Level 3 support for our production Orchestrade system,

·        Integrating connected systems (Sigma, Barracuda, Asgard, CIBOS, Deal Hub, etc) with Orchestrade, and

Advising on the best architectural approach to integrating Orchestrade with other systems

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

 Essential: 

  • A degree in an IT-related subject with substantial experience in software development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable:

  • Solid understanding of mathematics, as applied to derivatives risk and pricing

Experience

Essential:

  • Highly experienced C# and Orchestrade developer, especially with regard to delivery in a fast-paced, agile culture.

  • Experience working with traders, quants, and risk managers in an investment banking environment.

 

Desirable:

  • C++ and Java development experience
  • Experience with the FIX protocol and web services interfaces.

Required skills

Essential:

  • Understanding of FX cash and derivatives trading, risk, and pricing.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills in English.

 

Desirable:

  • Some French language skills are helpful.

Technical skills required

Essential:

  • Strong experience of Orchestrade, and its features, configuration, and API’s.

  • Strong understanding of SQL, RDBMS, and messaging middleware.

  • Understanding of agile project delivery, dev/ops, and continuous integration.

  • Understanding of service-oriented, micro-services design concepts, and clean interface design.

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of other trade management vendor products.

  • Formal project management / delivery experience
