Job summary

The Equity Derivatives Desk in Hong Kong is looking for a motivated Trainee with appropriate skill set to support its development in Asia. The candidates focus will be on sales and clients servicing in the region with derivatives pricing especially on equity derivatives. The candidate must have good knowledge of derivatives pricing as well as a good mathematical background, coding and strong analytical skills, be autonomous, disciplined, rigorous, good communicator and have a team-oriented mind set.

Key Responsibilities
1. Pricing of flow Equity derivatives products for sales team across the region.

2. Interact with trading and sales to ensure a smooth product delivery from conception to trade.

3. Liaising with trading and quant teams to keep improving pricing quality.

4. Carry out data, technical and risk analysis, on new pay-offs and investment strategy ideas.

5. Contribute to new investment idea/product generation.

6. Preparation of marketing material.

7. Contribute to automation of workflows and processes, including documentation such as Termsheet, Pricing supplements, ticketing and so on.

8. Help draft and review documentation such as Termsheets and other legal and operational documents.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

• Master/ Bachelor degree holders, with strong academic background in Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Stochastic Calculus, Finance, Economics or Engineering with less than 12 months' full-time experiences

Level of minimal experience

0-2 years


• Internship experiences in Derivatives / Options Trading or Structuring/Sales/Marketing is an advantage

• Strong presentation and marketing skills

• Strong communication and problem solving skills with ability to provide solutions

• Self-motivated and hardworking with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility

• Responsible, self-initiative, positive attitude, attentive to details & hardworking 

Technical skills required

• Strong analytical skills and quantitative skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA, Word, PowerPoint and other PC applications


• Fluent in both written and spoken English, Fluent in Mandarin and/or French is strong advantage
