Team: Capital Markets Back Office
Operations & Country COOs (OPC) in Hong Kong is made up of four main teams:
- Financing & Trade Operations (FTO) including Documentary & Guarantee Operations, Credit & Loan Operations
- Transaction Banking Operations (TBO) covering client account operations
- Capital Markets Operations (CMO) including Middle Office, Back Office and Transverse Operations functions
- Asia & Middle-East Operations Projects (AOP) covering CMO, FTO, TBO and Transversal projects
Within Capital Markets Operations (CMO), Middle Office teams (CMM) are in charge of controlling the booking of transactions in CACIB’s Front Office and Back Office tools and managing the life cycle of operations.
MO Post Trade team is in charge of the management of the stock and life cycle of Capital Markets transactions within the Back-Office tools for several CACIB entities (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Tokyo).
Key Responsibilities
Trade Processing & Monitoring
- Ensure the proper integration of transactions initiated by the Front Office into the Back Office systems of the Bank. Capital markets transactions including FX, MM, Rates, Offshore deposit covering Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo
- Deal checking against trade supporting documents and liaise with internal teams and external counterparties for any trade discrepancy.
- Investigation related to internal queries (deal searching, request for information, FO-BO reconciliation).
- Conduct controls related to the integration of operations in respect of local regulations and internal policies.
- Management of requests from Control / Reconciliation / accounting teams.
- Management of fixing within back office systems.
- Booking of non STP operations in the Back Office System according to the documentations.
- Management of transverse tasks: Brokerage value, Structure Id and other tasks.
- Monitor and carry out common projects / global initiatives
Control
- Manage and ensure all daily activities and controls are completed on a timely manner
- Inform Head of Middle Office of any new requests and process change request
- Manage operational risk with a duty to alert Management.
- Provide and arrange training to ensure all teammates are knowledgeable and updated with the current processes.
- Ensure adequate cover to undertake duties in the event of temporary needs, holidays, sickness, …
- Initiate change to improve team organization, including but not limited to process change, internal workflow

Academic qualification / Speciality
· Degree holder from discipline in business administration, banking or finance-related discipline preferred

Experience
· Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a Capital Market Operations, back or Middle Office environments, including 2-4 years of managerial experience
Required skills
- Good judgment, alertness and common sense
- Good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skill
- Comfortable with multi-tasking, project management and able to work under pressure
- Fluency in English. Proficient in French or other Asian languages is a plus
- Versatile with PC tools and applications, e.g. VBA
- Perfectly at ease in a multi-cultural environment
Technical skills required
Knowledge of financial products and understanding of operational risks involved in Fixed Income and FX products
Good knowledge of China processing framework and regulatory environment will be beneficial
Languages
Fluency in English. Proficient in French or other Asian languages is a plus
