Job summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

-       Working within the Global Commodity Finance team in New York with a focus on originating and executing Commodity and Trade finance deals for physical commodity traders active in Energy, Metals and soft/agri sectors.

-       Coverage role on a selective number of clients

 

SCOPE:

-       Target clients will be international commodity traders having a US presence and/or US domestic players and/or US investment funds active in physical commodity business

 

-       Commodity Finance products:

o    Borrowing Base facilities.

o    Non-recourse or limited recourse Prepayment Facilities

o    Limited recourse Inventory Financing

 

-       Trade Finance products:

o    Import documentary letters of credit and confirmations

o    Cross-border trade-related Standby L/Cs

o    Performance guarantees

o    Financial guarantees

o    Receivables Financing / Reverse Forfaiting

 

-       Transaction Banking:

o    Short WC Loan and Cash management

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-       Developing existing clients relationships with commodity traders active in the US

-       Maintaining close ties with the relevant product, geography and sector teams within CACIB

-       Expanding the portfolio of existing clients with selective onboardings in line with the bank and the business line strategy

-       Originating, Structuring and monitoring Commodity and Trade Finance transactions encompassing a variety of facilities (bilateral, club deal, syndicates) and structures (limited recourse, secured financings…).

-       Provides clients with a comprehensive range of products

-       Identifies opportunities, structure transactions and prepare term sheets and offers.

-       Prepares and submits Business Opportunity Memorandum (BOMs) for New York and Paris Business Committees.

-       Contributes to credit process, sponsoring and defending credit files.

-       Negotiates documentation (in conjunction with legal counsel where applicable).

-       Follow key developments of on-going mandates, and coordinates with the different ITB teams in the network in communications / negotiations with counterparts in the US to ensure smooth execution.

-       Ensures close monitoring of transactions post-closing, in close coordination with MO

-       Work with GCF and ITB management in the implementation of the strategy in the country, through the definition of commercial targets and products to be marketed.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

-       Support in the preparation of the budget

-       Contribution to increase revenues and profitability

Cross selling in general with other Product and Business Lines of the Bank.

 

Salary Range: $130k - $160k

Experience

·      Min. +3 to 6 years of relevant experience with knowledge of Commodity and Trade Finance

·      Good interpersonal and commercial skills.

·      Team work.

·      Have strong work ethics

·      Expertise in the above mentioned products

·      Initiatives, dynamism, effectiveness and commercial / technical skills in supporting its activities.

·      Rigour and sense of organization

·      Fluent in English (written and verbal)

·      Have credit experience.

·      Have experience negotiating documentation with counsel.
