The Canada Branch has offices in Montreal and Toronto providing financial services to Canadian Financial Institutions, Banks, Pension Funds & SSA and to large Canadian headquartered international corporations.

 

Crédit Agricole Services & Operations is hosting a part of all Crédit Agricole CIB’s support functions, from KYC, Back Offices, Risk, IT, Legal or Finance supporting our growing operations in the Americas and complementing our European and Asian operations platforms in a “follow the sun” approach.

Join our dynamic financial team as a Banking Controller for our Canadian Branch. This position offers you the opportunity to integrate into a strategic services entity that supports our associated businesses globally.


As Banking Controller, you will play an essential role in the financial excellence of our Canadian Banking Branch, working closely with our international Finance teams. You will actively contribute to the monthly financial statements, monitoring and optimization of financial reports, indicators, and procedures to ensure effective and high-performing management of the Banking Branch

 

You will be responsible for :

  • Ensuring excellence in financial accounting and management reporting for the banking branch
  • Ensuring compliance of the branch with group policies and Canadian tax regulations
  • Preapare the financial regulatory reports

 

In this strategic role, you will :

  • Complete the various accounting entries necessary for the closing of accounts
  • Monitor and analyze management results against budget
  • Prepare and produce Canadian financial reports with rigorous quality assurance of the general ledger
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation and detailed descriptions of processes under your responsibility

 

You will regularly interact with:

  • External auditors
  • Tax authority
  • Internal relations with Montreal, New York and Paris colleagues

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

BAC + CPA Certification (Certified Professional Accountant) 

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience

5+ years of experience in a relevant domain 

Required skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of banking-specific accounting principles including OSFI regulatory filings
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills In-depth knowledge of
  • Canadian IFRS GAAP for public companies 2
  • Strong computer skills
  • Banking specific Tax knowledge (asset) Canadian Banking Regulatory knowledge (asset)
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and French required (You will need to service Anglophone clients and work with Anglophone colleagues)
