Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Windows Administrator Team Lead to oversee our Windows systems administration team. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our Windows-server environment. The Windows Administrator Team Lead will drive operational excellence, mentor team members, and collaborate with other IT leaders to align systems with organizational goals
Key Responsibilities:
Technical:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server environments
- Ensure system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Coordinate patch management, updates, and security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities.
- Administer virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, SimpliVity, Citrix) and cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft 365).
Collaborative Duties:
- Collaborate with other local and global IT teams (network, security, database and application teams) to design and implement integrated IT solutions along with day-to-day activities.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures, documentation, and best practices for the team.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements to improve infrastructure efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in budget planning for hardware, software, and team resources.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Windows administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance to ensure timely delivery of projects and support.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities for team members.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and ensure effective resolution.

Candidate criteria
Minimal education level
Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
Academic qualification / Speciality
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science Technology and management
Level of minimal experience
11 years and more
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Windows system administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Knowledge of banking domain and more specifically, investment banking
- Knowledge of IT security
- Hands-on experience with virtualization environments
Required skills
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and French required (You will need to service Anglophone clients and work with Anglophone colleagues)
- Knowledge of Active Directory, including domain controllers, user accounts, group policies, and security settings.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy management
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and IT security practices
- Understanding of email and messaging systems
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a technical team
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
